Ella Langley Makes a Powerful Television Debut with “Choosin’ Texas”

Ella Langley delivered a memorable and heartfelt television debut of her chart-climbing single “Choosin’ Texas” during The 59th Annual CMA Awards on Wednesday night.

Performing beneath a backdrop of giant shimmering stars, Langley brought her trademark energy and emotional depth to the stage. A couple two-stepped in front of her as she performed, adding a warm and authentic touch that matched the spirit of the song.

The Alabama-born artist co-wrote “Choosin’ Texas” alongside Miranda Lambert, Luke Dick, and Joybeth Taylor. She and Lambert also co-produced the track with Ben West, with Lambert lending her voice to the background harmonies that enrich the recording.

A Major Moment for a Rising Star

Upon its release to country radio, “Choosin’ Texas” earned adds at an impressive 130 first-week stations — the third-largest add week for a solo female artist this decade. The milestone underscores Langley’s growing impact and the song’s undeniable momentum.

Heading into this year’s CMA Awards, Langley was tied as the most-nominated artist alongside Megan Moroney and Lainey Wilson, each securing six nominations. Langley’s nods included:

  • Single of the Year – “You Look Like You Love Me”
  • Song of the Year – “You Look Like You Love Me”
  • Female Vocalist of the Year
  • Musical Event of the Year – “Don’t Mind If I Do”
  • Music Video of the Year – “You Look Like You Love Me”
  • New Artist of the Year

Before the awards even began, Langley was already celebrating — she and Riley Green secured the trophy for Music Video of the Year with their hit “You Look Like You Love Me.”

Reactions Ahead of the Show

Speaking with Country Now before the ceremony, Langley admitted that receiving six nominations felt surreal. “People will keep asking me this question and it’s just like… yeah, I think at some point this job, so many cool things happen to you in a row and you’re just on a cloud nine type of thing,” she shared. “Usually, stuff like that sinks in a couple days after it happens.”
